MIKE DAVIES

1936 Ferguson A Serial no 254.

The tractor is in quite original condition.

It had spent all its working life in Breconshire. Mike bought the tractor in 2004.

1943 Fordson N.

Mike purchased this tractor when he was 14 and restored it over a number of years.

It came from a farm near Abbeycwmhir.

1957 Ferguson FE 35.

This tractor has been on the family farm since new.

1972 Massey Ferguson 135.

This tractor has also been on the family farm since new.

The tractor has recently had an engine overhaul.

Mikes other interest is Wheelwrighting which he learnt on a course at Hereford College of Technology. He has made a half scale tip cart and a pair of carriage wheels and he is currently in the process of making 2 full size cart wheels to fit a Radnorshire wheel car.

Understood to have originally come from Staunton-on-Arrow.

Bought from a collector in Ledbury in the autumn 2005.

1957 Ferguson FE35

Having sent all its working life in Breconshire, this tractor was purchased from a smallholding near Brecon in 2007.

1958 Massey Ferguson FE35

This tractor has spent all its working life in Herefordshire. The tractor was found languishing in a barn at a fruit farm near Ledbury. The tractor was restored over the winter of 2003/04.

1958 Massey Ferguson FE35

Purchased at auction in July 2007. History unknown.

1963 Roadless New Performance Super Major

Currently undergoing restoration.

1971 Massey Ferguson 135

Spent all its working life in Herefordshire, the tractor was found in the corner of a field with a tree growing through it. The tractor was bought in 2006.

1972 Mercedes Unimog 421

The tractor had previously been used for spraying weeds on the bank of motorways before being parked up in a barn at How Caple around 10 years ago. Bought in 2008.

John started ploughing at 13 years old with a David Brown 25D tractor and plough. He has won many ploughing competitions including three times Welsh champion, British champion and Irish champion. He has finished fourth in the world ploughing championships. John still owns the original 25D tractor and plough. John also has various other David Brown, Case and John Deere tractors.
